How is it transformed into other forms of usable energy?

It is transformed into other forms of usable energy with solar panels!

The Future!!!!

I think it will be pretty much the same in the furture. Every one will still need and use the heat and light this energy gives from the sun just as much as now, they just might have a new way or technology for using it.

Where is this energy source used?

Solar Energy is used everywhere there is Sun!

Interesting Facts about Solar energy

Energy given from the sun is called Solar Energy. This Energy is what helps plants grow, us see, dry clothes, heat water, and keep us warm enough to live(even though in Michigan, some times you wouldn't be able to tell)! The sun is made up of burning, boiling, gas. Solar Energy is given to us from the sun in wave or rays. Some we can see(rays), and others we can't(like x-rays)!

environmental impacts of solar energy

Solar Energy has a huge impact on the enviroment. We can see because of it, and we can see, and stay warm enough to live. Also, plants can grow from it, too! Also, we can see the moon and stars from the sun.

The imapct Solar energy has on the economy

Solar energy is very expensive to buy because it's difficult to process. This is why not many houses are powered by solar energy. You won't see many solar powered oven or stoves, either.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages of this energy source are:

  • It is renewable.
  • It does not do any damage to our world.
  • We actaully depend on the sun to live, which is where it's stored.

The disadvantages of this source are:

  • When the sun isn't out, you can't use Solar energy at night

How is this energy storedand how it is relaesed

Solar Energy is stored in the sun. The sun is made up of gas. The energy is released in waves and rays. These rays heat up anything they hit. This is why the sun is sooooo important to this energy.

How do we use this energy source.

Solar powered energy has many natural effects. For example, we could not see without it. Also, the sun heats anything it hits. If it wasn't there, it would be too cold.
We also use the sun to heat water and dry clothes.

Solar energy history

Solar technology has been around for a while. It started somewhere around 7th century B.C., which is when people figured out that they could us sunlight and glass to start a fire.
  • 7th century B.C. a magnifying glass used to light fire for light & warmth
  • 3rd Century B.C. Romans and Greeks use mirrors to light torches for religious purposes.
  • 2nd Century B.C. A greek scientist used a bronze shield to burn a wooden ship.
  • A.D. 20 Chinese report using also using mirrors to light torches for religious purposes.
  • 1st to 4th century they made roman bath houses with large windows facing south to let in warmth from the sun.
  • 6th century so many houses and public buildings had sun-rooms that the Justinian established "sun rights", to make sure that buildings had access to the sun.
  • 13th Century In North America, Pueblo ancestors built south-facing cliff-dwellings to capture the winter sun.

What is solar powered energy?

Solar Energy is energy we get from the sun. Did you know we get most of our energy from the sun?
Solar energy will come from the sun to the Earth in rays or waves. Some of these rays are light rays, so we can see them. Others, we can't see, like x-rays.
Solar powered energy is renewable. That means we that it will come back instantly or or over a short period of time, so we can never use it up.
